However, it is the spectacular scenery of Tay Ninh that gives this province its reputation. For example, situated at the height of 986 meters, Ba Den Mountain is a renowned place with many myths, a history museum and a renowned temple know as Binh Thanh Cham Tower or Cao Dai Great Temple, the Oc Heo culture’s monument. Taking place from the 15th to the 18th days of the first lunar month, Ba Den Mountain Festival attracts a large number of pilgrims to come to go sightseeing, pray and enjoy the entertainment every year.

Cao Dai Holy See

Located a few km outside of town, the Cao Dai Holy See — the great temple of the Cao Dai faith, attracts flocks of people. A lurid meld of influences and styles, the temple is dominated by the divine eye which is the representation of God of the religion – it is a left eye for curious people. Done out in hues of baby blues and pink, this temple has a gleaming interior decorated with a clouded pastel blue sky and eight grandiose pillars wrapped with writhing dragons. Although the faith has built temples all over the region — especially in the Mekong Delta, this is the best, brightest and biggest.

As you will have far fewer tourists to share the spectacle with, aim for a prayer session other than the midday one if you decide to visit the temple independently. cruises from Saigon to Phnom Penh

The town itself is a bit of an unremarkable affair – primarily because of the affordable tours from Saigon – some going for as little as US$2 per person, very few travelers choose to stay overnight here although accommodation and eateries are available.
